Like an eternal defender, the cliffs at Pont du Sûr stand at the gates of the Bay of Mastesch. The first things seen as sailors approach the bay from the west. Towering above the waters the red granite cliffs signal safe harbor ahead for seamen seeking shelter from troubled waters. The lands at the top of the cliffs are protected by a powerful druid known as Beauchêne.
Beauchêne rarely travels beyond the area surrounding his chosen grotto. It is from here that he plans and orchestrates events to maintain the balance of things in Kinuri and the Bay of Mastesch. Not one to avoid delegation, Beauchêne uses friends, associates, hirelings, and even enemies to achieve his goals. Officially known as The Beautiful Oak, in hushed whispers amongst trusted friends Beauchêne is often referred to as The Manipulating Oak for the great schemes and plans he has in operation at any time.
Beauchêne is attended by his three Initiates of the 7th Circle (Druid 9). In true druidic style, the three operate in balance and harmony and have little desire to rise above their peers. Collectively known as the Solemn Three, like their master, they are observers and only act from the shadows. Capugent, Pyrandor, and Chuchoment are their given names, but outside of Beauchêne’s inner circle there are few that know who is who.

The is my January 2nd entry for the 2023 Character Creation Challenge. A personal challenge to create a new character everyday in the month of January. The participants can elect game system and methods. I’m of course using 1/2e AD&D and focusing on NPCs for my home-brew campaign. This year I’m going to focus on a small nation at the southern end of the Leitan Peninsula, Kunari. I’ll improve the stat block and add some links to my wiki in the days to come.
